Teen Responders

If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts and need to connect to someone please call 988.

Teen Responders exists to give Indy-area teens the knowledge, skills, and resources to care for their own mental health and respond to peers in crisis. We know that it shouldn't be the burden of teens to care for their friends in crisis, however often they are the first ones to respond. Our goal is make sure teens have the tools they need to respond in ways that are healthy and effective, while taking care of themselves. Through trainings and resources, we are working to see improvement in the mental health of teens in our community.

Become A Teen Responder

Friends need friends, be a friend with the tools who can help a friend in need.

The next Teen Responders workshop will be October 20th at 2pm. Registration coming soon!

The Teen Mental Health Crisis Response Workshop is designed to help teens have the tools, skills, and resources to care well for their own mental health and respond to their peers in crisis. We also have an adult workshop happening simultaneously but in a different room in the building, which helps adults be empowered to care well for the mental health of the teens in their lives.⁣ ⁣

This workshop is interactive and informative, and each teen participant will leave with a Mental Health Response Kit filled with small items to help them care for their own mental health as well. ⁣ ⁣ The three main topics which are led by licensed mental health professionals include:⁣ ⁣

LGBTQ+ Resources

LGBTQ+ teens often face discrimination, trauma, and pain that can make seeking mental health care difficult. Several mental health resources have emerged to help address this need. Whether you are looking for help for yourself or are a supportive ally, becoming familiar with and sharing these resources can be helpful.
